    Title: The Lost Hero
    Author: Rick Riordan

    Why is this book awesome?
    Why should someone read it?
This book is awesome because it is action packed and connects with the Greek Gods. Jason and his friends must save Hera(the god of marriage) or the world will end because Gaea(mother earth) will awaken and destroy modern civilization. Jason and his friends are demigods; half human and half god. Will Jason triumph over Gaea and keep her asleep? Or will he die trying? Read this book to find out.

    Tittle: Land of Stories
    Author: Chris Colfer
Why is this book awesome + favorite part about the book:
The book is about these two siblings who grandmothers gave them a secret book and where they suddenly go into it and explore the land all around the book. My favorite part about the book is when the grandma gives the book to one of the siblings and they go crazy so the other sibling tries to help but then they get sucked into the book together and stuck there and they need to get out. I recommend this book to people who like Narnia.

    Title: The Hate U Give
    Author: Angie Thomas

Why is this book awesome? Why should someone read it? Tell about the book, but don't give away the ending!

The Hate U Give tells the story of 16-year-old Starr Carter, who drifts between two worlds: her poor, mostly black neighborhood and the fancy, mostly white prep school she attends. It is a beautiful example of finding your identity, speaking up for what you believe in, dealing with racism and loss, and just the life of a black teenage girl.

Tell about your favorite part of the book or the author.

I love how it's all about Starr figuring out what version of herself she wants to be. I love how it brings out her anger, frustration, and passion in the death of her friend by the hands of an officer and how the world reacts.

If you like On The Come Up, you will love The Hate U Give! Both tell the stories of 16 year old girls of color struggling with tragey and their identities, and while both are similar both are different.

  10. I recommend The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The Book Thief is narrated by death, during the Holocaust, it has the prettiest writing a death with such depressing and hard content, can have. You fall in love with the characters, you feel every emotion, and I guarantee you'll cry at the end. My favorite part about the author is how he wrote the book so beautifully, the writing is a work of art. If you like, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, you'll like The Book Thief.

    Shadows (The Rephaim #1)
    Paula Weston

It's been almost a year since Gaby Winters was in the car crash that killed her twin brother, Jude. Her body has healed in the sunshine of Pandanus Beach, but her grief is raw and constant. It doesn't help that every night in her dreams she kills demons and other hell-spawn.
And then Rafa comes to town. Not only does he look exactly like the guy who's been appearing in Gaby's dreams—he claims a history with her brother that makes no sense. Gaby is forced to accept that what she thought she knew about herself and her life is only a shadow of the truth—and that the truth is more likely to be found in the shadows of her nightmares.
My favorite thing about this book is the way the author ties everything together and uses stories from long in the past to influence happenings now.
I would recommend this book to people who like mythical stories set in modern times, romance, and demons.

Magical power derived from a strange symbiosis between magical creatures called spren and the creatures of the Physical relm. moral codes called radiant ideals binding those that are broken to the spiritual plain. those of magic feared and said to have been cursed by a god whose corpse fell from the world in the age of the parshendi. His servant the storm father and a minor god circling the world with a shard of his essence causing gemstones to glow at his passing. Humans upon a plain of rock using the power of the gemstones to make devises called fabrials work.
