  6. 1. The Hate U Give
The Hate U Give is a story about a girl living in a poor black community and dealing with the repercussions of being a witness to her friend being shot and killed by a cop without reason. It focuses on police brutality and systemic racism through the eyes of a young black girl, and it’s a very powerful story.

    2. I’ll Give You the Sun
This book is about twins, a brother and sister. It has an interesting component in that the perspective switches between the two siblings and two different points in time. The storyline was very interesting and captivating, and it is hard to put down.

    All The Bright Places
This book is about the relationship between two teens along with their own personal struggles. It’s a very sweet, well-written story and it’s the kind of book that is difficult to describe but amazing all the same.
