Errol Heights Natural Area (Inner SE Portland) –– mulching

Join Portland Parks & Recreation and the Friends of Errol Heights to mulch an area to prepare it for a future planting of native trees & shrubs. Native plants support a diversity of insects and wildlife, and provide cleaner air and water for all inhabitants of our city. Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and KIND Snacks provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.

Description

Project details: Join Portland Parks & Recreation's No Ivy League and SOLVE for a morning of invasive species removal and planting native plants in Forest Park. Tools, gloves, instruction, coffee and snacks will be provided. Please dress for the weather, bring rain gear, wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. Volunteers will take a short hike to the site and will be working on uneven ground.

Join Friends of Terwilliger Park to restore this natural area!

Description

Join PP&R, the Friends of Terwilliger, and the West Willamette Restoration Partnership in removing invasive non-native species, including english ivy, Himalayan blackberry, and clematis. Work parties occur every third Saturday of the month, 9:00 AM-noon (except July & Aug). Check out PP&R's Stewardship Calendar for meeting locations and cancelations.
